The Kilns is open offering short and long term residence to qualified visiting faculty, independent scholars and artists, and advanced graduate students for varying lengths of residence, ranging from one week to ten months during the academic year (September through June). We are now accepting applications for the Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 terms.
If you are planning on conducting research or taking a study leave or sabbatical in the Oxford area, the Study Centre at The Kilns offers a unique opportunity to find your lodging, study and fellowship within an intentional Christian scholarly community.
The six-bedroom home offers varying accommodations to its resident scholars with membership fees (depending upon room selection and duration of stay) that range from £375 to £495 per month. All resident members enjoy shared access to the common areas of the home – library, living room, dining room, kitchen, toilets, bath, shower and gardens. Wireless internet access, fax and additional study area are also provided..
Located on Lewis Close in Headington, at the end of a cul-de-sac adjacent to the Henry Stevens/C.S. Lewis Nature Reserve just outside Oxford, The Kilns is readily accessible to the City Centre and Colleges of Oxford University by both bus and bicycle.
Our Warden manages the Study Centre on-site, ensuring the proper maintenance of the home as well as the oversight and conduct of tours of The Kilns for non-resident visitors on a limited basis, by appointment only.
