Oxbridge '98
July 19 - August 1, 1998
Join us for The International Centennial Celebration of C.S. Lewis' Birth
Oxbridge '98 is a two-week
conference that is unlike any other. Join us amid "the dreaming spires" of
Oxford and Cambridge Universities where Lewisian scholars and friends, together with
an array of literary, visual and performing artists, will celebrate the one-hundredth
anniversary of the birth of C.S. Lewis (1898 - 1998).
Guided by our world class faculty, the fourth triennial C.S. Lewis Summer Institute
will explore the theme, "Loose in the fire" (based upon Daniel 3:25).
Together, we will consider the larger significance of Lewis' life, particularly with
regard to the challenge of living faithfully as Christians in our time and within our
respective vocations.
Oxbridge '98 affords innumerable opportunities for enrichment of a more informal
nature through discussions over pub lunches and elegant dinners, during scenic walks,
and while punting on the Rivers Cherwell or "The Cam." Last, but not least, the
discriminating shopper will find opportunities galore to make those special purchases
amid a paradise of bookstores, galleries, boutiques, and antique shops. |
